ORTON-GILLINGHAM

Orton-Gillingham is a highly structured approach that breaks reading and spelling down into smaller skills involving letters and sounds, and then building on these skills over time. It was the first approach to use explicit, direct, sequential, systematic, multi-sensory instruction to teach reading, which is not only effective for all students but essential for teaching students with dyslexia.

Two Men Shaking Hands

Lisa Maslow- Preschool teacher at the JCC

Rachel is amazing! I see her walk quickly with smile to greet her students and they are equally excited to greet her, that's where it begins. Rachel is kind and patient with her students as I can attest as I watch my student blossom weekly( I am a pre school teacher) with her insightful knowledge! It brings tears of joy to my eyes, and positive  thoughts to my heart to watch how amazingly hard she works with these students! They are flourishing! I will be recommending Rachel to all my students who have OT needs...she is a gift who shares her gift with the students! Rachel is a true blessing!

Jennifer Brunmer-Parent

Rachel’s warm approach creates a safe and comfortable space for children to do their best learning. She looks at the needs of her kiddos from all angles to create activities that are perfectly suited to them, and she supports parents so that the learning can extend beyond her sessions and into their daily lives, making the greatest impact. She is one of a kind. Wish I could give her 10 stars.
